Thank you to everyone who supported my reelection Tuesday to a second term on the City Council.
I look forward to continuing to represent Ward 1 constituents and to work with my colleagues on issues that affect the entire city. Among them are advocating for affordable and workforce housing {including the projects at 737 Bridge Road and 196 Cooke Ave.); strengthening stable funding for the city’s public schools to ensure that all students have the resources they need to continue recovering from learning losses during the pandemic; supporting the new Division of Community Care and Climate Action Department; and working with the business community to plan for the Picture Main Street project.
Congratulations to Marissa Elkins and Garrick Perry (at large), Deborah Pastrich-Klemer (Ward 2), Quaverly Rothenberg (Ward 3), Jeremy Dubs (Ward 4), Alex Jarrett (Ward 5), Marianne LaBarge (Ward 6), and Rachel Maiore (Ward 7) who will join me on the City Council in January.
And congratulations also to Holly Ghazey, the new Ward 1 School Committee representative who will continue her work on the board after she was redistricted from Ward 2. Others elected to the School Committee are Gwen Agna and Aline Davis (at large), Karen Foster Cannon (Ward 2), Emily Serafy-Cox (Ward 3), Michael Stein (Ward 4), Ann Hennessy (Ward 5), Margaret Miller (Ward 6), and Kerry Labounty (Ward 7).
Others who were elected citywide on Tuesday are Julie Spencer-Robinson, Michael Cahillane and Richard Aquadro (Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School trustees); Kathleen Wight, Ruth Francis and Anne Teschner (Forbes Library trustees); Emily “Lemy” Coffin and Christopher Hellman (Community Preservation Committee); and Mary Odgers (Oliver Smith will elector).
